Upon returning to Denmark Prince Hamlet learns that his father has passed away and that his mother has already married Hamlet's Uncle, Claudius. Hamlet is urged to marry his beloved sweetheart Ophelia but soon the ghost of his father returns to visit him, revealing that he was in fact murdered by Claudius and Hamlet's mother, Gertrude. Hamlet must choose between passive acquiescence and the need for a vengeance which may ultimately lead to tragedy.
