The polar icecaps have melted causing the world to be flooded. The Mariner, a loner who has adapted to the new world, is rescued by Helen and Enola when he is caged on the Atoll, a floating settlement made out of scrap. The trio are pursued by the evil Smokers, as Enola may hold the key to finding the mythical Dryland.
